"Your Clan honors you, ____ and all the service you have given to us. I call upon StarClan to give you many moons of rest ____ in your retirement."
"Death is a sad truth in clan life. I am sorry to announce ______ has joined StarClan. Let us mourn their loss, and celebrate their life."
The cold, crisp day brought clouds to cover the sun from the clans. The aura was fitting for another great leader had passed away that morning. "Mistclan" Divestar bellowed. His eyes dull with grief but his voice strong and steady. "I'm.. so pained to announce that Wolfstar has been sent to starclan earlier today" He paused to catch his breath as more clan mates emerged to surround the high rock. "Her life along with many others will never be forgotten. The things she has lost for us.. is too great. She gave her life to this clan, she put everything she had into it and starclan took her to finally rest after her long and hard journey. I will not let her down. I will not let this great depression for the six clans bring Mistclan to an end. We will push through!" He yowled. "We are warriors. The keepers of this land and the masters of water. I promise to uphold Wolfstars legacy and finish the job she dreamed of for her home!" He did his best to stand proud before his clan. "I hope to not let any of you down and to be the best I can possibly be." He let out a long sigh and looked to the sky, for a moment, closing his eyes. But when he looked back at them they burned with a new flame of hope that was almost terrifying. "Mistysea" He called proudly. "Your passion, kindness and bubbly nature is what this clan needs very much right now. I can bring our honour back, but not alone. If you accept, I would be proud to call you my deputy" He stood smiling as he waiting for her answer. "As well, lepordfang has passed and Sandstripe will step up as our new medicine cat." Diveshadow waited for the cheers to die down. "tonight Sandstripe and I will head to the five stones so I can receive my nine lives. When I return to you I will be Divestar." He looked up to the sky one last time, missing his dear friend Wolfstar greatly and then dismissed the clan.
"MistClan," Wolfstar called after leaping up onto the tall-branch with ease, the recent battle seemingly having no effect on her physical ability. "Defending our camp and driving away the ClawClanners was successful, and we have little injuries, luckily. However..." A flash of uncertainty passed through her eyes. "It seems a few of our cats have gone missing since... i wouldn't put it past those foxhearts to kidnap our clanmates, but Mudpaw, Snowypaw, and Opalpaw were here after the battle..." She curled her lip and turned away. "Diveshadow will assign a patrol to find them and retrieve them. Then they will be questioned. Until then, no one is to leave without consent from your deputy or leader."
"Now that Moonwing is dead," Wolfstar began, the statement shockingly blatant and seemingly lacking in emotion, "I must appoint a new deputy." However, as she spoke, it was clear that her cheeks were glistening with tears and her eyes were wild with fear and sorrow. "Our clan is growing weaker! We're dropping like flies!" came her choked voice after a few moments of silence.
"Diveshadow... You have proven I can trust you... So you shall be deputy. Hopefully.... StarClan will not strike us all down," she whispered, and fled to her den.
"It seems that Sandstripe has decided to change his course from that of a warrior, and instead follow the path of a medicine cat. Today, he is named Leopardfang's apprentice," Wolfstar called without wavering, but her blue eyes flickered with annoyance. "I wish him well in his studies."
"Despite my own and my trusted clanmates' efforts, another cat is set to leave our ranks," Wolfstar said, her voice nearly drowned out by the sound of her own snarling. "This is a disgrace, another smudge on our perfect clan," she spat, sneering. "We who are loyal are the true heart of all the clans! There are few of us, so we must band together, and punish those who dare to challenge the code. Bloomingsoul!" she shouted, her body shaking with anger. "You are not welcome here any longer! You have betrayed us! If your wretched, impure soul ever sets paw over one of MistClan's boundaries again, you will be sent down to the depths of shadowy hell* by my own claws!"
*the Dark Forest.
Wolfstar's eyes grew angry and her lip curled. Tears were visible in the corners of her eyes, but she didn't care. They only fueled her rage.
"MistClan, we have had traitors within our midst, who were allied with the Claws. They must have fought against their own clanmates and no doubt have killed some of our own! Stoneclaw, Shadowfade, and Riverpaw! They are in part responsible for the deaths of our clan and the other clans, and although I prefer they pay more dearly for what they have done, perhaps with their own lives, I will exile them instead. However," Wolfstar's bright blue hate-filled eyes narrowed and her claws unsheathed. "should anyone spot these disgusting exiles on our lands, they are free to kill them."
"I am pleased to announce the return of one of our warriors, whom the Claws had taken hostage until defeated. Please welcome Jaggedscar," meowed Wolfstar.
"I am proud to announce that our deputy's daughter Blackkit will become Blackpaw today," Wolfstar said with a smile. "She will undergo her training as a medicine cat apprentice with the guidance of Leopardfang and Honeypaw, and I hope that StarClan may guide her."
"It is a horrible tragedy that Lostclaw has passed on and left our clan," Wolfstar said, her voice slightly pained. "I know that he was a friend to many of us. But he wouldn't want us to wallow in our sadness, he would want us to move on. He watches us from StarClan now."
She turned to Leopardfang, offering up a slightly weak smile. Lostclaw had been a good friend to her, but she knew that his apprentices would feel his absence much more troubling. "Leopardfang, you are now the medicine cat of MistClan. Honeypaw is your apprentice."
Wolfstar's bright blue eyes were wide as she returned to the high branch after just hopping off, only to be told something by the newest warrior, Wavesoul.
"MistClan... it seems... that perhaps StarClan is angry with us, for they continue to take our strong, young warriors away from us... especially at such a time." The leader looked up at the cloudy sky with flattened ears, and then returned her gaze to her clan. "Wavesoul will be leaving MistClan... just as Mapleheart has left us. I do not know why, and I do not wish anyone to ask her why. She is leaving tonight, and she will not return! She is not allowed on our territory! NO cat that is not of our clan shall even pass through our territory!" Wolftstar's lip curled and she unsheathed her claws, her back arched with raising fur.
"It does not matter if they share our blood! Once you leave, you cannot come back! Your loyalty has been broken!" she yowled. She eyed the cats of her clan as she spoke again. "I don't know who I can trust anymore, so everyone will need to prove themselves to me one way or another. And if anyone else is thinking about leaving to become a rogue..." She spat out the word like a piece of carrion. "...just know that I won't be nearly as forgiving as I have been. That is all."
Wolfstar seemed to hesitate before she spoke, and her eyes contained a flash of sorrow before her expression hardened and her face was stern. "MistClan... I have an important announcement to make... But. I will not accept any hostility or insults or assumptions from any of you when I tell you this," she said with a hint of hiss. She closed her eyes for a moment and then spoke.
"One of our warriors is leaving MistClan. Mapleheart will..." She paused as she tried to choke out the words. "She will no longer be part of our clan. She is leaving tonight, and..." She stopped and decided to leave out the details for the young she-cat's sake. "She will not be seen as an enemy unless she is hunting on our territory or poses as a threat to anyone in the clan. That is all," she finished quickly, leaping down and bounding back into her den.
